September 2024 marks the worst September of ramping since records began.
According to St John Ambulance, WA patients spent nearly 6,000 hours or 250 days stuck on the ramp outside a hospital waiting for urgent medical care.
These damning figures aren’t just numbers, every hour an ambulance spends ramped is an hour where a patient isn’t receiving the care they need and an hour where the ambulance can’t help others.
Roger Cook has been in the health portfolio and then Premier almost continuously since 2008 - this is a crisis entirely of his own making.
Rather than taking responsibility for this crisis, Roger Cook has repeatedly said he’s proud of his record on health. All from a Premier who said that 1,000 hours of ramping was a crisis, what does that make nearly 6,000 hours of ramping?
It's clear to Western Australians that Roger Cook’s record on health is nothing to be proud of.
ROYAL SHOW
This year’s Royal Show was a resounding success for the Liberal Party.
Not only did our candidates get plenty of contact with tens of thousands of Western Australians, but it was also an opportunity for the regional community to send a message to WA Labor’s assault on our farmers.
While the fun and fanfare of the Royal Show is always a spectacle the message from many regional Western Australian store holders was clear: Labor has turned their backs on us.
Walking through the sheep pavilion, the warm reception from farmers was an encouraging sign that the Liberal Party’s work to stand up for our agricultural businesses and regional communities is being heard loud and clear.
I’d like to sincerely thank every single member of the Liberal Party who stopped by our stall to show their support, volunteer or have a chat with our candidates.
OUT AND ABOUT WITH CANDIDATES
With just over five months until the next state election, our campaign to win back Government in 2025 is in full swing.
Across WA the message our candidates are hearing from their communities is clear and consistent: They’re sick of a Cook Labor Government that has its priorities all wrong.
Getting out in the community with our candidates is one of the best parts of the campaign.
Whether it’s meeting with small business owners at Bronwyn Waugh’s Business Breakfast, fighting alongside Aswath Chavittupara at his action day, touring the Shire of Serpentine-Jarrahdale with Paul Mansfield or meeting with residents in the Perth Hills with Adam Hort – every conversation is a step towards winning back government.
But the fight is far from over. If you’re able to assist with any of your local campaigns and haven’t yet done so, please reach out to your local candidates and offer your assistance.
Every bit helps in our fight to deliver the Western Australia we deserve.
