The Prime Minister promised the Australian people that life would be “cheaper” under him.
The Treasurer said getting on top of inflation was his number one priority.
The Albanese Government has simply failed.
The recent Consumer Price Index highlights Labor’s failure to tackle inflation. Headline inflation increased to 4.0%. Core inflation increased to 4.4%.
After two years of Labor, the cost of food is up 11%, health is up 11%, housing is up 14%, electricity is up 21%, and gas is up 22%.
Labor’s $315 billion of higher spending since the election, its bad workplace laws and its mismanagement of energy policy are all making inflation worse.
Last week’s monthly inflation data shows Labor's “carefully calibrated” economic plan is failing Australians. No matter how the Albanese government tries to spin this, there is no doubt from the recent data and the comments from the Reserve Bank, that this is Labor’s homegrown inflation crisis.
As credible economists are saying, Australian families and in particular small businesses will now be bracing for even more economic pain than they have already endured.
What is even more disturbing is that Australia is at the back of the pack due to this homegrown inflation and all Labor does is make excuses.
Under Labor, Australia’s core inflation is increasing, and is higher than every country in the G10, including US, UK, Euro area and Canada who have seen inflation moderating.
This is the result of a government that has spent the last two years completely distracted, with the wrong priorities and absolutely no interest in the economic prosperity of our country.
Instead of showing true economic leadership, the Albanese Labor Government continues to fail Australian families and small businesses.
Australia is in an entrenched household, consumer confidence and productivity recession, with no plan from Labor to fix the situation.
Albanese’s Nuclear Two-Way Bet
West Australians deserve better than the contempt Mr Albanese and Labor are showing them in relation to a sensible discussion on nuclear energy and its benefits in delivering cheaper, clenar and consistent electricity as part of a sensible mix.
Western Australia is about to become a nuclear State — hosting the AUKUS nuclear submarines. Does Mr Albanese forget that AUKUS was and is a bipartisan commitment?
Mr Albanese condones his Labor members of Parliament, including frontbenchers, indulging in juvenile scare campaigns about nuclear technology.
A social media post by Labor front bencher Andrew Leigh, depicting cartoon character Blinky Bill with three eyes, was a disgraceful example of misinformation likely to undermine confidence in AUKUS. There were plenty of other examples last week including three eyed fish.
Labor can’t have it both ways on nuclear technology particularly here in WA.
They can’t say one form of nuclear technology is fine for WA while trying to demonise almost identical technology.
The Prime Minister should be showing some leadership and strongly backing the safety of nuclear technology — anything else is disgraceful misinformation.

Our Plan For Nuclear
Every Australian deserves and should expect access to cheaper, cleaner and consistent electricity. But under Labor, this isn’t happening.
Right now, in households and businesses around the country, Labor’s expensive renewables-only approach is failing.
The Government is now talking about a 65 to 75 per cent emissions reduction target by 2035 but won’t release modelling and won’t tell us how much higher power prices will go up.
Power bills have already increased by up to $1,000 for many Australians, when they were promised a $275 cut. And Labor’s climate target of 43% emissions reduction by 2030 has become unachievable.
The Coalition believes Australia must have a balanced energy mix to deliver cheaper, cleaner and consistent 24/7 electricity. 90 per cent of baseload electricity, predominantly coal fired power stations, is coming to the end of life over the next decade.
Nuclear energy for Australia is an idea whose time has come.
Of the world’s 20 largest economies, Australia is the only one not using nuclear energy, or moving towards using it.
Our plan will deliver a net-zero electricity grid by 2050 and a strong and resilient economy. It will set our country up for decades to come.
We have launched a website that outlines our plan for and includes more information about zero-emissions nuclear technology, so feel free to share this among family and friends.
WA Is Mr Albanese Intent On Destroying WA Farmers
Last week, the Bill to ban live sheep exports in Australia from 2028 passed the House of Representatives.
Farmers from all over Western Australia were blindsided when Agriculture Minister, Murray Watt, announced from a high-rise building in Perth that the live sheep export industry would be phased out by May 1, 2028.
Even though Australia has the best animal welfare assurance systems in the world, the government has chosen to pander to fringe activists. The irony is that this will only shift the supply to other countries that do not have the same animal welfare standards as Australia and negatively impact our great trade relationships.
It is senseless to remove Australia from the market because the Middle East will simply find other markets which don’t have our animal welfare standards.
Recklessly deciding to cut off this vital trade fails to acknowledge the significant relevance to the Middle East’s religious, cultural, and social stability and will not be without repercussion. It also fails to acknowledge the significance of this industry to the supply chain of people, our nation’s trading partners and the Australian economy.
A Coalition government will reinstate the live sheep export industry out of Western Australia.
Only we will protect the 3000 livelihoods that are going to be torn up by a government that has treated Western Australia with absolute contempt.
