WA Liberals will restore law & order

Western Australian businesses are dealing with the fallout from a Labor Government that is soft on crime.

WA Police statistics highlight shoplifting has increased by 123 per cent since Labor came to

power, whilst at the same time over 1000 police officers have resigned in the past two years.

These stats reinforce what every Western Australian business already knows; they are less

protected from and more vulnerable to the scourge of crime under the Cook Labor Government.

This week, I visited retailers across our state, and they all told me the same thing: it is Roger

Cook’s soft touch approach to crime that is emboldening criminals to act.

That is why I was proud to announce yesterday that a Mettam Liberal Government will introduce Workplace Protection Orders, to empower businesses to keep thugs – who frequently intimidate their staff and customers – off their premises.

Rather than forcing a victim of violence in the workplace to go through the process of getting a VRO, which would protect only one staff member, a WPO will allow a business to deliver the same protection for all staff and customers.

WA businesses deserve a government that will back them every step of the way – a Mettam

Liberal Government will do just that.

PAPALIA MUST GO

Recently, we learnt that yet another child in detention had tragically taken their life. The suicide of another child under the watch of Minister Papalia is a stark reminder of just how dire the crisis plaguing our corrective services has become under the Cook Labor Government.

Only a mere 10 months ago, Cleveland Dodd tragically took his life, marking the first suicide in youth detention in the history of WA.

It has now occurred a second time within the same year.

Shockingly, Premier Cook, in the aftermath of this most recent tragedy, claimed that there was “more confidence than ever before in terms of the way we are managing our juvenile detention facilities”, and that Banksia Hill Detention Center was “vastly improved”.

This breathtaking ignorance is a reflection of an arrogant Cook Labor Government that has

completely lost its way.

How many more children need to die before Papalia resigns?

COOK BENDS THE KNEE TO ALBO

Self proclaimed Batman, Roger Cook, was dragged kicking and screaming to call on his Labor mate, Prime Minister Albanese, to apologise to WA farmers after he cracked an appalling joke about the end of the live export industry.

Roger Cook was then proud to announce that the Prime Minister had “clarified” his live export joke, confirming that no apology was forthcoming.

Sadly, this is just another example of Roger Cook failing to stand up to his Federal Labor mates, in the interests of Western Australians. Whether it’s the proposed Nature Positive laws, the militant CFMEU, or the live export industry, Roger Cook is nowhere to be seen.

All Roger Cook has offered Western Australians – by way of national advocacy – is a one

person office dubbed the ‘WA Hub’, that he believes is a good spot for storing luggage.

Thankfully, Western Australians have the chance to tell the Cook Labor Government to pack

their bags in March 2025.
