Over the past week or so, over one hundred thousand Western Australians have cast their ballots and many of them are saying the same thing, this Labor government has lost its way and it’s time for change.
Roger Cook has spent this campaign talking about Labor’s priorities, like building a new racetrack and sending hundreds of millions of dollars to Sydney for a rugby team.
As he said in the televised debate “We put Labor first”.
Western Australians are making it clear; these are not their priorities, Western Australians want to put food on the table, keep a roof over their head and, if they need it, access to a hospital bed.
These are the messages my team and I have been hearing on the ground for over a year.
Only the Mettam Liberal team has the right priorities and real solutions to build a better future for Western Australians.
After eight years of Labor, Western Australians are poorer, less safe, and less likely to get the healthcare they need when they need it.
The WA Liberal team’s priorities are the priorities of Western Australians. We will lower living costs by axing Labor’s sneaky energy tax, slashing stamp duty for first home buyers and downsizers, boosting cost of living payments for seniors, and cutting payroll tax for businesses.
We will fix Labor’s broken health system by building the new Women and Babies Hospital at the QEII site, rebuilding Royal Perth hospital, training, and hiring more nurses here, building more urgent care clinics and making 500 more transitional beds available.
We will keep our communities, businesses, and families safer by hiring an extra 500 police over four years and putting the equivalent of 300 more police on the beat through overtime, tougher bail and parole laws, and introducing workplace protection orders.
Over the next three days or so, over a million Western Australians will have a choice to make.
A choice between an arrogant Cook Labor Government with the wrong priorities for Western Australians or a Mettam Liberal Government with the right priorities and real solutions for Western Australians.
You and I both know what’s at stake on 8 March, we know that Western Australians deserve a Liberal Government after eight years of Labor failure.
My team and I will be fighting every minute of every hour of every day for every vote until 6pm on March 8, to change the Government in Western Australia.
We can’t do it alone; we need all your help. Any time you have to man a pre poll booth or work a booth on election day, is time spent winning votes, and booting out this Labor Government.
I look forward to standing shoulder to shoulder with you in our communities and at the polling booths across Western Australia, every minute of every hour of every day until 6pm on 8 March.
