On Wednesday 6th November 2024, the Policy Committee hosted a forum at The Backlot (Private Cinema) in West Perth from 8:45am in the morning till mid-afternoon to present an open platform for WA Liberal Party members to watch the coverage of live results on a big screen as they began to be rolled out through the day.
State President Caroline Di Russo and Liberal for Bicton Dr Chris Dowson presented their analysis of the results. The cinema was packed to capacity. The attendees thoroughly enjoyed watching the results roll in as well as engaging with Caroline and Chris on their thoughts.
Caroline touched on the implications this election holds for United States-Australia relations in general while Chris focussed on presenting his critical observations on the key battleground states. What was particularly fascinating for the attendees was the accuracy of Dr Chris Dowson's predictions on a state-by-state basis.
It was a well-attended forum and the Policy Committee remains committed to continue to providing Party members avenues to contribute towards political debates of this nature that hold implications for Australian public policy across multiple portfolios.
