ENDING LABOR’S SECRET ENERGY TAX

WA Labor promised no new taxes or increases on taxes in the lead up to the 2017 election.
That was a lie.
They almost doubled the cost of the fixed daily supply charge of electricity, costing Western Australians over $1,300.
During a cost-of-living crisis, this is simply unacceptable.
A WA Liberal Government will immediately provide financial relief to all West Australians by cutting Labor’s sneaky energy tax within 100 days.
Under the WA Liberals’ plan we will immediately cut Labor’s unfair electricity charge increases by 46.3 cents per day.
Our tax cut will save families almost $700 over four years.
For a retiree with an average power bill, that works out to be 10 per cent off each and every bill.
It’s inexcusable that, in a state as wealthy as WA, so many working families are forced to make impossible choices between paying bills, providing school essentials, or simply putting food on the table.
We know households across Western Australia are facing unprecedented budget pressures and we are the only party committed to providing meaningful and sustained relief.

16 DAYS IN WA
Last week marked the start of the annual 16 Days in WA – Stop Violence Against Women campaign.
Since 2017, family and domestic violence has tragically increased by 54% across Western Australia, placing women and children at a greater risk of harm in their own homes than in almost any other state in Australia.
This heartbreaking statistic only begins to reflect the harrowing realities many West Australian women and children face daily. Disturbingly, many cases of this violence remain unreported.
Last week, I stood alongside my fellow Liberal candidates at the 34th March Against Family Violence, joining survivors and advocates to call for meaningful action.
The time to act is now.
A Mettam Liberal Government will invest $100 million into GPS tracking for repeat offenders and other critical measures to protect victims. We will also reform parole laws to ensure violent repeat offenders remain behind bars, where they belong.
A Mettam Liberal Government will stand with victims, ensure their protection, and hold offenders accountable.

OUT IN THE COMMUNITY
Across Western Australia, our local Liberal candidates are taking the fight to the arrogant and tired Cook Labor Government—a government that is out of time and out of solutions.
Whether it’s tackling the skyrocketing cost of living, addressing the housing crisis, or curbing the escalation in violent crime, our candidates are championing the issues that matter most to their communities across our great state.
I recently had the great pleasure of launching Damien Kelly’s campaign for Scarborough at the Scarboro Surf Life Saving Club.
With over 200 locals and fellow Liberals in attendance, Damien’s grassroots connection and passion for his community were on full display. He is a popular local candidate, and it’s clear that Scarborough is ready for change.
Last week, I stood alongside Lisa Olsson, our Liberal candidate for Hillarys, as she launched her campaign. Lisa’s passionate speech highlighted her commitment to service as a human rights lawyer and her unwavering dedication to advocating for a better future for Hillarys.
Now, it is less than 100 days until Western Australians head to the ballot box.
The choice in this election couldn’t be clearer.
